Kilkerrin-Clonberne, Sarsfields sweep the boards at Club Awards

LADIES FOOTBALL & CAMOGIE CLUB TEAMS OF THE YEAR

KILKERRIN-CLONBERNE and Sarsfields swept the boards in ladies football and camogie respectively — with Louise Ward and Niamh McGrath winning the premier individual gongs — however Galway senior hurling champions Loughrea were surprisingly overlooked at last weekend's AIB-sponsored Club Player Awards.

In an historic first, the scheme celebrated the best players from club football, hurling, camogie and ladies football for 2024-'25 in a single ceremony at Croke Park on Friday evening, recognising their outstanding achievements throughout last season.

Louise Ward saw off competition from her Kilkerrin-Clonberne clubmate Eva Noone and Aoife Kane from Kilmacud Crokes to be named Club Player of the Year in ladies football.

Eight players were included in the standout XV from the North Galway club who captured the Dolores Tyrrell Cup for a fourth straight year. Louise was chosen along with her twin sister Nicola - the reigning Players' Player of the Year at inter-county level - as well as Sarah Gormally, Niamh Divilly, Hannah Noone, Aisling Madden, Olivia Divilly and Eva Noone.
