A HOUSE in Gilmartin Road was the target of an attempted petrol bombing last Friday, the second time such an incident has occurred in the Tuam estate in the past few months.

The male who made the failed attempt to petrol bomb the house on Friday, January 17, was seen leaving the area in a silver Toyota Avensis.

Gardaí are investigating the criminal damage incident, and anyone with information on the matter is asked to contact Tuam Garda Station on 093-70840 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800666111.

A petrol bomb was previously thrown at a house on Gilmartin Road in the early hours of November 13 last. Gardaí said at the time that this incident was part of an ongoing feud between families in Galway and Mayo.

Separate incident

Tuam Gardaí are also carrying out investigations into a separate criminal damage incident that took place in the townland of Knocknacarrigeen in Belclare between Sunday and Monday, January 19 and 20. The owner of a black Seat Estate reported damage to the four tyres of a black Seat Estate, as well as damage to the side of the car.
