Milltown honours Gaelic sport legend

PARISH pride was in the air when a packed Milltown Community Centre celebrated the sporting career of local hero Noel Tierney on Sunday.
They came from far and wide to honour the Gaelic football achievements of the powerfully-built full-back who was highly inspirational in Galway’s All-Ireland three-in-a-row of 1964, ’65 and ’66. This year marks the Diamond Jubilee (60th) anniversary of the 1964 Sam Maguire Cup triumph.
