Keen interest in the subject

HIGH Cross College in Tuam has become just the second school in Galway to offer its students the chance to study Polish as a Leaving Cert subject.

In collaboration with Post Primary Languages Ireland (PPLI), the school has added the subject to its language offerings alongside German and French, allowing seven children from Polish backgrounds to study their native tongue.

“A parent approached me asking if we could bring Polish to the school and she put me in touch with the PPLI, who supply schools interested in introducing the subject with a teacher,” explained Neasa Cosgrove, Principal of High Cross College.
