Biking butchers made big impact on children’s services

Extra equipment is a hit with children

By Patrick Flaherty

There was great excitement at the Grove in Tuam last Friday morning as a large crowd gathered to see some of the new facilities at the disposal of the Children’s Disability Services Network Team (CDNT).

Led by Jarlath Kelly, a group of Tuam Butchers have taken to the saddle 14 times down through the years to raise money for various causes such as the Galway Hospice, Western Alzheimer’s and Down Syndrome Ireland.

After a nine-year hiatus, the group came out of retirement for one last fundraiser in August 2023, for a cycle which raised €22,000 for the CDNT in Tuam.
