Young singer Rachel likes to keep her music live
Records all her music in Headford
At a time when many new young singers, especially on the social dancing scene, are singing to backing tracks, award winning Rachel McConnell from Fermanagh likes to play her music with a live band.
In doing so she is following a family tradition as her father Dermot, who is also a singer and guitarist in her band, and for many years in other bands, said that when he started out you would not get gigs singing to backing tracks.
Rachel is lucky to have the family musical support of her dad and her brother Fergal, who also sings and is the piano player in her band.
She records all her songs and videos in Headford and is back with what sounds like a floor filler for the summer. It’s a nice new upbeat song for all the jivers and Line-Dancers titled We're Gonna’ Dance.
