WITH the eagerly anticipated Late Late Toy Show just around the corner, the spotlight is set to shine on ten young musicians from Lackagh Comhaltas this Friday.

Performing on the night is the U12 Lackagh Céilí Band, with their appearance marking the culmination of a remarkable journey over the past few months.

The band lineup includes Saorla Gilmore on drums, Matthew McNena and Éalga Monaghan on flute, Cuan Gilmore on accordion, Toraí O’Flynn on concertina, Fionn Herwood on banjo, Abigail Kelly on piano, and Siún O’Mahoney, Anna Finlay and Juliette O’Sullivan on fiddle.

The band’s musical journey began with preparations for Fleadh Cheoil 2023, where they progressed through the U12 County and Connacht Céilí Band competitions, before winning the coveted gold medal at the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in Mullingar in August 2023…
