Kilkerrin-Clonberne complete six in-a-row of provincial titles

Kilkerrin-Clonberne roll on. The North Galway side appear to be getting better with each passing game as they continue to set the standard in club football across the country, writes Ivan Smyth.

Despite claiming 11 county, six Connacht and two All-Ireland titles in-a-row, the hunger for victory and the thirst for improvement remains intact.

Despite their remarkable achievements, manager Willie Ward is keen for his side to soak in each piece of silverware secured in what is an unprecedented period of success for the club.

“It was a good day for us again today,” said Ward. “We celebrate every one of them [Connacht final victories] and we don’t take any for granted. We didn’t today against Knockmore and there is great satisfaction in what we done.

“At the moment we are just looking forward, going ahead and ploughing on. When it’s all over we will look back on it some time and see what we have done. Today was a good day and good again to keep adding to our record as a club…”
