Support increasing for dog park at Tuam's Palace Grounds

A TUAM teenager is garnering public support for her plan to install a dog park in Tuam’s Palace Grounds, gathering over 2,000 signatures in support of the project in just over two weeks.

Nicola Riedinger, 13, is a First-Year student in Archbishop McHale College and lives in Palace Fields with younger sister Lea and parents Silvia and Shawn, who are originally from South Africa and have lived in Tuam for the past six years.

Nicola got the idea for a dog park when out walking with her friend and her dog last year, with the idea taking shape when she got her own dog Tucker earlier this year.

“My CSPE teacher Ms Patterson asked us in class a few weeks ago what we could do to help the local community and I told her that I had been researching dog parks and wanted to bring one to Tuam,” she said…
