MADRA seeks to rehome abandoned dogs
THEY say a dog is not just for Christmas, and those working with MADRA know all about that old proverb.
Marina Fiddler is the co-founder and Director of MADRA (Mutts Anonymous Dog Rescue & Adoption), and, while the staff of the dog rehoming organisation were indeed busy over the festive period, sadly, dogs who are unwanted, abandoned and neglected regularly come the way of the animal welfare charity throughout the year.
“We had an awful lot of puppies and abandoned dogs to look after. It’s never-ending. We had up to 30 dogs on site at Christmas,” offered Marina.
“We had four puppies dumped at the bottom of the road from us a few weeks ago. They were four weeks old, only babies…
