Tuam Covid test centre open again next week
FOR the third week in a row, Tuam will host a pop-up Covid test centre next Monday and Tuesday.
Just under 1,400 people were tested in the town over the four days it operated previously.
There has been an extremely high demand for COVID-19 testing at in the last number of weeks, which reflects the high prevalence of the disease and other illnesses at this time.
In an effort to meet this increased demand, a symptom-free COVID-19 Testing facility will again open in Tuam GAA Stadium on Monda, Nocember 29 and Tuesday, 30th November from 10am to 4pm.
Breda Crehan-Roche, Chief Officer, Community Healthcare West added: “I would like to thank everybody who have once again assisted us in getting the testing centre up and running. It is still important to combine basic Public Health measures - wear a mask, wash your hands and if you are indoors to ventilate the space well. Let us all work together and continue to break the chain of transmission of the disease.”
All requests for COVID-19 tests will be by appointment only via the self-referral online portal https://covid19test.healthservice.ie/hse-self-referral/, GP referrals and appointments for close contacts (including schools).
You must bring a photo ID with you and providh a mobile phone number.
Social distancing measures will apply as people arrive for testing.
