A FRESH chapter in the Archdiocese of Tuam was written on Sunday, when three married men became the first to be ordained as permanent deacons in the Cathedral of the Assumption.

Archbishop Michael Neary paid tribute to Cathal Galligan (Corofin), Julian Drapiewski (Athenry) and James McLoughlin (Carnacon) and described the momentous occasion as “a new beginning”.
