Boys mugged in Claregalway

A DISTURBING incident occurred in Claregalway on St Patrick’s Day when a group of youths mugged two boys in a local housing estate and stole a portable speaker.

The attack occurred at about 8pm at The Friary on Wednesday March 17.

Gardai report that two young males were robbed of a portable speaker by a group of between 10 and 15 youths. During the robbery one of the males was assaulted.

Gardaí appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or to witnesses who may have been in the area around The Friary at around 8pm on St Patrick’s evening to contact Loughgeorge Garda Station on 091-842870 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
