Tuam connection in Bishop elect's new coat of arms
AS preparations continue for his ordination as Bishop of Killaloe later this month, Tuam’s outgoing diocesan secretary Fr Fintan Monahan’s new Coat of Arms will ensure the town will remain a part of his future episcopal ministry.
The Bishop elect travels to Rome on Sunday for a week long course of study, and said his decision to include the Broken Chariot Wheel of St Jarlath was his way of maintaining his strong links to the Tuam Diocese.
Speaking to the Tuam Herald this week, he said incorporating aspects of his time in Tuam was a very important consideration when coming up with his new coat of arms.
