Public meeting eager to hear solutions to Tuam flood woes

OFFICIALS from the OPW along with Senior Engineers from Galway County Council will attend a public meeting in Tuam over the next two weeks to listen to possible solutions to the serious flooding in the Tuam area.
Some residents in the Gardenfield and Milltown Road areas have proposed that the size of a drainage pipe being laid along the new town bypass and motorway route be increased significantly to help drain water to the River Clare.
A call has also been made for the design of the two new road projects, currently under construction, to be reviewed in light of the flooding problems.
