Electric fence blamed for Chairman's broadband blackout
AS if there are not enough obstacles in the way of rural dwellers receiving an adequate broadband service, the common electric fence – a vital tool in most farmers’ equipment – has now been identified as the culprit in a case which has seen the Cathaoirleach of Galway Co Council without internet connection for over a fortnight.
Moylough-based Cllr Michael Connolly told The Herald that he has reached the end of his patience and gone well beyond it at the delays in restoring his service which he depends on to conduct his council business.
So annoyed is Cllr Connolly that he has already been threatened with a 'warning’ for informing someone manning a helpline that they were worse than useless.
