Newly ordained priest gets an allireland welcome home to kiltevna
NEWLY ordained priest Fr Paul Glennon received a homecoming worthy of an All-Ireland win when he returned to his native parish of Kiltevna last week.
Huge crowds attended the 41-year-old’s first Mass in Kiltevna Church on Thursday night which was followed by a massive community party.
Fr Glennon was ordained on June 1 for the Archdiocese of Dublin in a ceremony at St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral.
Crowds lined the narrow road leading to Kiltevna on Wednesday night where blazing bonfires resembled “a landing strip” according to Fr Glennon. He found the home-coming very emotional and was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and sheer joy.
