Shortlists revealed for Galway football and hurling posts
IT'S expected that the vacant Galway senior football and hurling managers' posts will be filled by late October after the shortlists to succeed Kevin Walsh and Micheál Donoghue were finalised.
Nominations were invited from clubs prior to Friday's deadline and Herald Sport understands that three nominees remain in the frame for the football job with Padraic Joyce, Liam Kearns and Matt Duggan all confirming their intention to go forward for interview.
A fourth candidate, Alan Flynn, led Galway to All-Ireland U-21 success in 2013 and has coached Kildare and Clare in recent seasons, was also nominated but since communicated his decision to withdraw.
