Plans for new Tuam primary school are moving ahead
PLANS to provide a new school building for Tuam’s recently amalgamated Trinity Primary School are progressing well, according to Minister of State Sean Canney.
The new school will be built to the rear of the St Patrick’s Secondary School campus on the Dublin Road and discussions are continuing between the Department of Education and school patron, Archbishop Michael Neary.
Trinity Primary School was formed last September with the amalgamation of Presentation Primary, Mercy Primary and St Patrick’s Primary School.
"Discussions on the accommodation brief for the new school campus are ongoing between the Department of Education and the patron," said Minister Canney."I have been informed that once the discussions are completed, the Department of Education will progress the project to the architectural planning stage."It is imperative that the Department of Education continues to progress this vital project for the future of primary education in Tuam."
