Galway hurlers lost a five-point interval lead
ALL Galway followers left Páirc na nGael, Limerick on Sunday evening with mixed feelings.
Full of hope that the Championship will continue the rate of improvement seen throughout the National League campaign after a dreadfully poor 2013 — and disappointment that a great opportunity to win this League semi-final was wasted.
Galway team manager Anthony Cunningham summed it up well, in a mere two words. 'Missed chances,' he said, when asked after the game for his verdict, adding: 'We are disappointed. It was a game we could have won. We did well in defence and midfield for most of the match, and a lot of good play up front as well, but we will have to be a bit sharper.'
Next time out will be Sunday, June 1st in the Leinster SHC vs the runners-up of the round-robin series involving Antrim, Carlow, Laois, London and Westmeath.
All going well there, and if Kilkenny overcome Offaly on June 7th, Galway and Kilkenny will renew rivalry in the Leinster semi-final on Sunday, June 22nd.
Kilkenny 1-16
Galway 0-15
