Thugs attack former Mayor’s car
FORMER Mayor of Co Galway Liam Carroll, who lost his seat in last month’s election, has described those who attacked his car in the driveway of his home last weekend as “low life thugs”.
He also believes that those who targeted his car “in the dead of night” last Friday night/Saturday morning had earlier attacked a car in the driveway of his neighbour’s home on the night of May 27/28 in what he says was most likely a case of mistaken identity.
“Our house had leylandii trees until a few months ago but as they had grown so high we got them cut down. However our neighbour’s house, also on the same corner at Frenchfort, has a high hedge and I suspect that whoever was sent to attack my car was told to go to the house with the high trees and went to the wrong house the first time,” he says.
