'Nightmare’ for Galway fans as Garth gigs cancelled
GALWAY fans of Garth Brooks were booked to go to his concerts in Croke Park across all of the five nights and it is a “nightmare” for them, and for the Galway ticket agents, now that all five concerts are cancelled.
So says Eugene Carroll of the OMG-Zhivago shop in the city, who says at least 4,000 fans have purchased their tickets at their shop or on line.
People camped overnight outside OMG-Zhivago and the other ticket selling outlet in Co Galway, Stronge’s of Ballinasloe, to buy tickets. Eugene Carroll says shops had to hire extra staff and security people to deal with the queues on the days the tickets were on sale.
“It is a nightmare for people who have made travel arrangements as well as having organised time off work to go to Dublin and hired baby sitters while away.
“It will also be a nightmare for us refunding money, while nobody will refund us for the costs of the extra staff and security people we had to hire during the time the tickets were being sold. There is also the inconvenience and cost for people having to travel in again to the city to get refunds,” he added.
