Annaghdown complete the north and county minor b championship double

 ON an afternoon of two replays at Baile Dóite, Moycullen last Sunday, Annaghdown annexed the County Minor 'B’ Football Championship title with a wonderful display of fast, skilful, attacking football in a game that was superior in quality to the senior encounter that preceded it.
Although the winners were the better side overall, the final scoreline does not do justice to a spirited, hard-working Oughterard team who were excellent at times, only to be overrun for long periods by a fired-up Annaghdown team determined to finish the job they started in the drawn match.
When Annaghdown were in full flow they were a joy to behold but they clearly let their concentration levels drop in the third quarter when they went from 2-5 to 0-2 ahead at the break to 2-6 to 1-7 and hanging on with less than ten minutes remaining as Oughterard made a thrilling comeback.
