Top Garda now supports CCTV for centre of Tuam to combat crime

THE county’s highest ranking Garda has pledged to throw his weight behind any initiative which will result in the centre of Tuam being covered by an operational CCTV system.
Chief Supt Tom Curley told a meeting of the Joint Policing Committee (JPC) on Monday that he supported the concept and believed it would be an aid to Gardaí in combatting crime. Cameras installed in the centre of town are not working, the JPC heard.
