Run for Ollie in Milltown on June 14th
ATHLETICS legend Eamon Coghlan (now a Senator) is supporting a national call to action for Milltown’s 5th annual 10km ‘Run for Ollie’ on Saturday, June 14th at 3.00 p.m.
As in recent years, hundreds of runners and walkers are expected to take part.
The organisers — friends and supporters of Ollie Burke — promise another competitive and fun event for all, and they are especially thrilled that Senator Eamon Coughlan took time out of his busy schedule to help launch the 5th Run for Ollie 10k.
In 2007, while carrying out electrical work, the former GAA player fell from a ladder. Ollie suffered severe head injuries which resulted in an acquired brain injury. He spent sixteen months in hospital; he is still severely incapacitated and he requires 24-hour care.
Every euro raised from the run goes directly to funding much needed care and ongoing rehabilitation for Ollie.
