Athenry workmen hit by early morning thefts from vans

TWO construction craftsmen had valuable equipment stolen from their vans in Athenry on Sunday night-Monday morning.

At Pairc na Ri a green Vauxhall van was broken into and a large quantity of power tools taken.
Among them was an orange Pasload Framing nail gun, two blue Makita screw guns and a yellow Dewalt construction radio.
On the same night between 02:00 and 06:30 at Bridge Court, Athenry, a red Citroen van was broken into. A large quantity of power tools was taken from the back of the van, including a yellow Dewalt plunge saw, yellow Dewalt combi drill and screw gun, blue Makita circular saw, blue Makita hand drill and a Bahco socket set in an orange box.
Anyone who may have witnessed any person or vehicle acting suspiciously in the Bridge Court, Ard na Ri or general Athenry area that night is asked to contact Garda Declan O’Hara at Athenry Garda Station on 091-844016.
