Major stakes in semi-final clash
ALL roads lead to MacHale Park, Castlebar for Galway this weekend and first up it's Friday's Connacht Minor Football Championship clash against Mayo with a final place against Roscommon and progress to the All-Ireland series on offer (throw-in: 6.30pm, live on TG4 YouTube).
Their recent round-robin meeting at Tuam Stadium - in which Galway came out on top on a cold, wet and windy evening - carried no jeopardy and while a superbly entertaining hour's football, it mattered little in the grand scheme given both had qualified by virtue of wins over Sligo and Leitrim.
There's jeopardy in spades this time, though. No shortage of it. Galway haven't lifted the Tom Kilcoyne Cup since 2018, whereas Mayo are in the hunt for a fourth straight title at U-17 grade. The winner will have a shot of .........
