Cheerleaders make history

TUAM athletes created history after winning the first ever medal for Ireland at the World Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, USA.

The Ireland Youth Coed Median secured a bronze medal at the 2025 International Cheer Union (ICU) Junior World Cheerleading Championships on Friday.

The team consisted of 18 athletes aged between 12 and 14 with 16 of the team from Tuam’s ACE High Cheerleading and Gymnastics Club, and two from Killarney.

The ICU world championship is the premier international event for cheerleading, featuring national teams from around the world competing in various divisions and age groups, including Youth, Junior and Senior.
