Galway and Roscommon meet for the first time under new rules
THE first test of Galway’s 2025 All-Ireland credentials will come on Sunday.
A loss against Roscommon in Pearse Stadium on Sunday (throw-in: 4pm) will not spell the end of days for Padraic Joyce’s team of course, although they would much prefer a tilt at defending their Connacht title for a fourth successive time.
The loser of this Connacht SFC semi-final will have a five-week break to the opening game of the group stage of the All-Ireland series. The prize for the winner is a Connacht final meeting with either Mayo or Leitrim on Sunday, May 3.
Mayo play Leitrim on Saturday at 4.30pm in Páirc Seán MacDiarmada in Carrick-on-Shannon in the other provincial semi-final.
