Corofin set dancers top at Scór Connact Final
Galway had the best overall performance
COROFIN’S Set Dancers emerged victorious at the Connacht Finals of Scór which were held in Tubbercurry, Co Sligo at the weekend.
County Champions from across the province competed for prestigious titles and a place in the All-Ireland Finals. This year’s All-Ireland will be held at the TF Theatre, Castlebar, on Saturday, April 26.
It was a night of high-quality competition, and Galway had plenty to celebrate, claiming the Cormac McGill Cup for best overall county performance — a significant achievement. For the first time in many years, Galway outscored the other counties to secure this coveted title.
Galway was strongly represented across multiple categories.
Beagh GAA competed in the Quiz, while Corofin showcased their talent in Solo Singing, Recitation, Ballad Group, Instrumental Music, and Set Dancing. Abbeyknockmoy proudly represented the county in the Novelty Act.
The night’s events began with the Quiz, where Beagh GAA impressed and secured their place in the All-Ireland Final.
The final competition, Rince Seit (Set Dancing), saw Corofin GAA emerge victorious, earning Galway yet another provincial title and capping off an excellent night for the county.
