Tuam’s 200 new homes aim to meet long waiting list

GALWAY County Council believes its plans to build over 200 new social houses in Tuam will help address the housing waiting list for the area which currently stands at 337.

Nearly half of those seeking local authority housing in Tuam have requested one or two-bed accommodation while a further 144 have listed a three-bed home as their first preference.

Local councillors were given an update on the planned Tuam residential developments at the Tuam MDC meeting on Monday.
