High Cross Tuam girls bow out to Thurles opponents

HIGH Cross College’s bid to reach a first All-Ireland Post Primary Football Championship final in their brief history came undone in the face of a dominant second half display from Ursuline Secondary School, Thurles last Wednesday afternoon.

Boosted by an early Rachel Treacy goal, the Tuam students surged six points ahead following a wind-assisted first half. However, the Munster winners quickly turned the tables and restricted them to just two further scores thereafter as goals from Alice Butler and Claire Fitzgerald headlined a return of 2-7 without answer to take the game away after the break.
