Gardaí seek witnesses to city assault

A YOUNG man received serious injuries in an assault in Galway city centre over the weekend.

The man was walking down Shop Street with a group of friends when they were attacked by a group of up to ten males.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning at approximately 2.15 am, close to McDonald’s restaurant.
