Gardai investigate rural burglaries

Lavally and Newbridge break-ins

GARDAÍ in Ballinasloe and Mountbellew are investigating two separate burglaries that occurred in their respective areas last week.

Mountbellew Gardaí report that a house was burgled in the townland of Meelick in Lavally on Thursday between 11am and 8.45pm. A quantity of jewellery was taken from the house after entry was obtained through a rear window.

A house in Woodbrook, Newbridge, was broken into some time between the hours of 9am on Friday morning and 10am on Saturday morning. A rear door was forcibly opened during the burglary.
