Corofin singer set to release debut single

Already being played on the airwaves

A LOCAL musician is set to achieve his lifelong ambition when he releases his first single later this week.

Meet Me Later is a song written and sung by Dylan Connolly, who records under the name of Konno, which will be available to stream from Friday.

The Corofin native is better known for his work as a producer, firstly by helping Mayo’s Rachel Walsh bag an iTunes Number 1 hit, before going on to be heavily involved in the production of Tuam singer Darragh O’Dea’s first album.

Having begun playing in Darragh’s band in recent years, who opened for the Saw Doctors on their last few tours, Konno caught the bug for creating music once again.

“I had a few songs in my mind that I wanted to bring out, but I’m terrible for putting my own projects on the back burner, instead focusing my attentions on producing work for other people,” he explained to The Tuam Herald.

“In the last year Darragh got married and took a bit of a break from music, so it just felt like this was the right time to look at my own work, record them, and see what happens. The song is a dream come true.”
