Galway awards honour those working for their communities

Awards presentation in November

PEOPLE and groups from Tuam, Abbeyknockmoy, Lackagh and Athenry are among this year’s Galway People of the Year award winners.

The winners were announced at the weekend and the awards will be presented at a special banquet in November.

All of the winners were nominated by members of the public for their work in a variety of fields, which contribute to the betterment of the lives of people in their communities at home and abroad.

The winners were introduced by awards organiser Ollie Robinson and Mary Bennett, Chair of the judging panel, to a large attendance of family members and supporters.
