Concerns over future of proposed Galway Park and Ride sites

By Patrick Flaherty

THE commitment of the National Transport Authority (NTA) to planned Park and Ride sites on Galway’s outskirts has been questioned.

Towards the end of 2022, the NTA said they hoped to have started the planning process by mid-2023 for three park and ride facilities.

The sites, near Claregalway, at Oranmore Railway Station and where the M6 motorway merges into the N6, would have the capacity to take over 1,000 cars out of the commuter routes to the city.
