Cortoon Inn at heart of community
AT a time when the vintners’ industry is warning of pub closures, one North Galway couple have taken the brave step to enter the pub business for the first time.
Martin Gilmore and his wife Orla have recently taken over The Cortoon Inn, in the football-loving village between Tuam and Dunmore. The pub beside the church has a long history and, up until a few weeks ago, was run by Mickey and Carmel Gilmore who are now looking forward to a long-awaited retirement.
