Show Classes
Four generations to compete at Mountbellew Agri Show
SIX siblings are set to ride ponies in Mountbellew on Saturday week.
The Kellys from Castleblakeney will be taking part in various classes at the Mountbellew Agricultural Show on the grounds of the Agricultural College on August 26, at an annual event that will be held during the month of August for the first time in decades.
George Kelly (10) and his horse Susie were jumping at the show’s launch last Friday. Padraic Kelly, George’s father, runs Castleblakeney Stud and equestrian centre, and there are now four generations of Kellys keeping horses.
The free pony riding lessons are a big attraction at the Mountbellew Agricultural Show and the Children’s Corner this year will also include Daisy the Cow, a foot pool and face painting.
The Mountbellew Show again hosts the All-Ireland Ewe Lamb Competition, and a couple of Galway Sheep rams and a Zwartble ewe were on show at the launch last week…
