Discharge of a Firearm

Private residence in Athenry targeted

GARDAÍ are appealing for witnesses following the discharge of a firearm in Athenry in the early hours of this Wednesday.

At approximately 12.30am, a firearm was discharged at a private residence in the Ballydavid area of Athenry. No person was injured during the incident; however damage was caused to the property.

At approximately 2.15am, a silver Ford S-MAX was located burnt out on the outskirts of Moycullen village.

Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have information in relation to these incidents to come forward.

Anyone who was in the Ballydavid area of Athenry or in the Moycullen area between 12am (midnight) and 2.30am and who may have noticed a silver Ford S-MAX is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.

Any road users with camera footage (including dash cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí
