Farming meeting discusses plight of sheep farming
SHEEP farmers continue to lose money finishing their lambs, and that was one of the main topics of conservation at a Fine Gael-organised meeting in the Ard Rí House Hotel last week.
As many as 200 people were at the Tuam hotel on Thursday evening. They were addressed by MEP Maria Walsh, from Shrule; Heather Humphreys, Minister for Rural and Community Development; and Martin Heydon, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture.
The meeting was chaired by Eddie Downey, head of Fine Gael’s internal Agriculture, Food and Rural Development Forum.
