Tuam donations pour in for Mark’s family
Kayaker died in river tragedy over Christmas
A FUNDRAISER for a Galway man who lost his life in a kayaking accident last month has surpassed its target of €20,000 in just over a week, with the people of Tuam responding to the death of the young father of two who has strong connections to the town.
Mark Morley, whose mother Clare (nee Talty) is from Church View, died on December 29 when he got into difficulty while kayaking on the Boluisce River in Spiddal. He leaves behind wife Kate, and two young daughters, Roisin (7) and Allison (5), with the wider Talty and Morley families also reeling from the tragedy.
Neighbour Deirdre Sheridan, who lives beside the family in Doughiska, set up the fundraising page. She said people have been shocked and stunned by Mark’s death…
