Rural venues receive big boost
Night-time economy scheme gives pubs and nightclubs a fighting chance
A NEW €4 million night-time economy scheme, aimed at assisting off peak entertainment in venues across Ireland, has the potential to reignite the rural pub scene.
That’s the view of County Galway councillor and Kilconnell-based publican Tim Broderick, one of 33 successful Galway grant applicants who received funding under the programme.
The financial aid was to be used to trial new social events in pubs, nightclubs, restaurants, cafes and other unlicensed premises such as community centres, art galleries and museums.
