Review set to remove 450 people from Council housing list
Concerted efforts fail to get in touch with applicants
SOME 450 people are set to be removed from the County Council’s Social Housing list after numerous attempts to contact them in recent months have failed.
Director of Housing with the Council Liam Hanrahan said taking someone off the list was a last resort but that a team of staff have spent the past two months on the phones, sending emails and writing letters trying to get in touch with people and 450 haven’t responded.
Monivea Cllr Albert Dolan expressed concern about people being removed from the list when the issue was discussed at a meeting of the Council on Monday.
While he complimented the housing section on their social housing assessment, he had “grave concerns” that a person was going to be deleted from the list because they hadn’t replied to the Council…
