Irish agri-food high in carbon efficiency
3,000 carbon audits done on Irish farms in the last three to four years
THE fact that Ireland exports food to most of the countries on this planet is a thumbs up for the quality of produce.
When quality of food produce is discussed, the performance of the men and women on the ground in the guise of Irish farmers must be recognised.
Global recognition came the way of the farming community last month when Ireland placed second behind Finland in the Global Food Security Index (GFSI). The food security of 113 countries was measured using the four pillars of accessibility, affordability, sustainability, and health and safety.
