Discount chain Aldi to open its Tuam store
Second new supermarket to open in town in just over a week
DISCOUNT supermarket chain Aldi is set to open the doors to its new multi-million store in Tuam tomorrow morning (Thursday).
The store fronting the Ballygaddy Road will be the chain’s tenth store in Co Galway and will employ about 20 people.
The purpose-built supermarket has been constructed on the former Glynn’s HomeValu builders’ yard, which has since relocated to Airglooney.
Work is also continuing on an €11 million Aldi store in Athenry, which is expected to open early in the new year and another store is being built in Mountbellew.
This is the second new supermarket to open in Tuam in just over a week and it’s been a busy start for Tesco’s new store in the town at Tuam Shopping Centre…
