Tenders issued for new stand as next phase of Tuam Stadium makeover takes shape
TUAM Stadium’s long-awaited makeover looks to be finally taking shape as tenders are issued today (Wednesday) for a new stand at the historic sporting venue.
A donation by the late businessman Joe O’Toole, worth €250,000, was made following his passing in 2019 with a specific intention of replacing the old stand with a more modern facility for supporters.
The new steel structure will be roofed and fully seated, replacing the existing dilapidated stand, where safety concerns have led to a reduction in stadium capacity in recent years.
Speaking to The Tuam Herald on Tuesday, a spokesperson for Galway GAA’s infrastructure Committee said it was a huge relief to have issued the call for tenders after what they acknowledged was a slow and frustrating process…
