No cash will be needed for Tuam’s parking meters
Card machines on the way in bid to tackle dwindling revenue
THE excuse of not having change for the parking meters in Co Galway towns will run out of road later this year when new infrastructure is installed to facilitate bank card payments.
A tender has been approved by Galway County Council to phase out the existing parking meters throughout the county, all of which offer cash only payment facilities, with the exception of Cleggan outside Clifden. These will be replaced with solar powered metres on a three-year, phased basis.
