Ms Murphy bids farewell to teaching after 36 years
ALL good things must come to an end, and last week Lavally native Breda Murphy bid a fond farewell to her beloved St Oliver Plunkett NS, located in Newcastle, Athenry, after 30 years’ service, 18 of which were spent as principal of the school.

The daughter of John (RIP) and Kathleen Murphy from Lomagh, Lavally, Breda always wanted to enter education as a professional after being inspired by her very first teacher Mary Cunniffe at Lavally NS.
