Carcass of dead ewe left to rot on side of road

ANOTHER dead animal was found in an illegal and shocking manner in the local area last week.

Following on from the three dead calves that were discovered in a bog in Belclare a few weeks ago, a dead ewe was found left in a large fertiliser bag on the side of the road in Bodane, Kilconly.

The area where the ewe was located is a popular bog walk that links Kilconly, Caherlistrane and Sylane.

“I come from a farming background myself and I do a small bit of farming. I just can’t understand why somebody would do such a thing,” said Tom Prendergast, the man who found the dead animal.
